How to Give a Testimony in Seven Points:
1. Keep it short.
2. Make it truthful.
3. Start with your life before you are saved.
4. Recognize that you were spiritually dead, share why you did what you did. Let them know that there was a loss of meaning, and purpose in your life, along with a lack of love, joy, and no peace.
5. Describing the need for spiritual fulfillment is how you began to search out spiritual things, and you came to the conclusion that you were looking for a person (Jesus) rather than an experience.
6. Then recount your genuine conversion experience,
the need to confess that you are a sinner in need of a Savior and by faith receive the free gift of salvation. Give God thanks and praise!
7. Tell them about your experience as a new creation in Christ since He entered your life. Let them know how He has given your life a new meaning, filled with hope and purpose that you had never experienced before. Tell them you have a new outlook and are free from sin. Explain how this new life in Christ is helping you to love others by encouraging them to seek their relationship with Christ. Giving God all the honor and glory!
Keep in mind that this is an example of how to deliver a testimony.
The testimony of the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1:12-17:
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, 13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an [a]insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long suffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe in Him for everlasting life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to [b]God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
